When I started homeschooling my oldest child 10 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. A friend told me about Comm. Central, so we decided to give it a try. What started as something we just thought we’d “try out” quickly became such a huge part of my kids’ education that I can’t imagine doing anything else. Everything is so well organized, the assignments are laid out in an easy-to-follow way that takes the guesswork work out of what you need to prepare. You hear about the high standard of education that your child will receive at Comm. Central, and that is indeed true, but besides the academic benefits, what really draws our family is the way our kids have grown and developed as a direct result of the curriculum. I have a son who entered kindergarten shy and timid, unable to carry on a conversation with an adult or peer, and he is now confidently giving speeches. One of my daughters struggled in math and viewed it as her least favorite subject, but now because of the Math curriculum offered to the upper grades at Comm Central, she loves math and is thriving in it. I could go on and on about each of my kids and how they’ve grown since starting Comm. Central, but the thing that I personally love the most is the community of like-minded parents and friends that we have grown to know and love. For our family, there is no better program, and we look forward to many more years of educating our children alongside our friends at Comm. Central.

As a family, this is our 11th year with Comm Central (24-25). Homeschooling was laid on my heart by God, and He opened the doors wide open for me to try it when I heard about Comm Central. The idea of homeschooling overwhelmed me. I needed a plan that was straightforward and laid out for me. I didn’t have time to start from scratch, choose a curriculum, and figure out all of the details. I’m a checklist kind of gal, and Comm Central’s curriculum is absolutely PERFECT if you need a straightforward guide and checklist!
My children have thrived by completing all of their work as outlined in the curriculum guide throughout the week. As each year has passed, I have watched them become more and more independent. The easy and fun memory work in their early years laid good foundations for them. We can still recite a lot of the memory work together, which makes for fun little moments at home reminiscing about the early years.
The writing curriculum and assignments through Comm Central in their elementary years were monumentally instrumental in developing them into excellent writers. They had the ability to write outstanding papers by junior high and would only ask me to read over them and look for errors.
I can’t say enough about Comm Central’s impressive curriculum and resources. Kristi and Tanya are example-setters and world-changers! I am forever grateful God led us to Comm Central!

I began Comm. Central curriculum in 5th grade, shortly after being diagnosed with dyslexia. The prospect of a new curriculum terrified me, as my dyslexia fueled academic insecurity. However, the flexibility of the curriculum encouraged me to push past the labels and limitations I had internalized and placed upon myself. Rather than taking a route of classroom accommodation, the curriculum met me where I was and helped me discover the value of hard work and honing new skills. The curriculum’s classical education, which emphasizes oral communication and writing—once my greatest fears—became my passions. The Unique Design Fair, creative writing competition, and art competition provide opportunities for students to showcase their interests and abilities and foster community. Going into college, I was confident in the knowledge, experience, abilities, and work ethic Comm. Central instilled in me.

During my eleven years at Comm. Central, a lot has happened. I’ve grown! It’s hard to comprehend that I went from barely being able to get my thoughts on paper in the first grade to handling concurrent courses with ease as a junior. Comm. Central, through the provided curriculum and comprehensive assignment instructions, has set the foundations of how I carry out my academic work, from reviews for tests, writing painfully long narratives, and keeping up with deadlines. Of course, while Comm. Central has benefited me in how I go about my work, my honest takeaway has always been the community. Mrs. Tanya and Mrs. Kristi are the real stars. You’ll never meet a pair that complement each other so well and hold down the reins of an entire school quite like them.
